Transpacific Parkway Realignment

SEF is the Engineer of Record for the Port of Coos Bay.  This project is the latest public project of significant scope (2005 to present).  SEF provided engineering and surveying services to the Port of Coos Bay for the safety realignment of 2,400 feet of roadway on the North Spit.  Although this project has been delayed due to environmental permitting, it involves working with CORP, UP, ODOT, COE, DEQ, DSL, USFS, Coos County and the Port of Coos Bay.  This project is funded through two different ODOT funds, will be owned by Coos County and is managed by the Port of Coos Bay.  Right-of-way was acquired from three adjacent property owners for the realignment.  While this project has been delayed, it is an example of a project made complex by environmental issues and coordination between two railroads in relation to crossings.  Total construction cost is estimated at $1,500,000.  Currently the project is awaiting COE permits for bidding.  Project contact is Mike Gaul, Port of Coos Bay, 541-267-7678.
